How to get the attention of another Instagram account
Author: Alan Richardson
I’ve noticed that with more posts, and better tagging, that my content is getting in front of more people. That translates into more likes and comments. Comments have a higher value.
I try to spend time looking through who has liked my content and who has commented on my content.
Why?
- engagement
- I learn from their profiles
- I might find some to follow that I can learn from
But now that I receive more likes, it is much harder for me to keep up. I simply can’t view the profile of everyone that is liking my content - I try, but I drop out after 20-30 profiles, so I have to spread this over multiple sessions.
I make much more of an effort for comments.
But a lot of comments are automated
A lot of comments on Instagram are automated and when they are short comments it can be hard to determine which is a real comment and which is not.
But when it is a longer comment, and it actually references something in the post. Then the value of that comment goes through the roof.
The best engagement strategy are relevant comments
Relevant comments, that make it obvious you are a human, are the best way for another account to notice you (assuming they do have an engagement strategy in place).
At least that’s true for me. If your experience is different I’d love it if you could contact me or leave a comment describing your experience.
Most of my Social Media Strategies are based on what I perceive from interacting with Social Media as a practitioner and user.
